I,
George III,
as royal sovereign
of the rebellious
American colonies of
Great Britain,
hereby
decree
that
upon
first attempting
diplomacy,
then
attempting
belligerent hostility,
we must recognize
our own stupidity.
we have been
fighting it wrong—
and here’s our new song:
all slaves are hereby
free—
throughout the empire
for consistency—
and,
in the colonies,
especially
imbued with their
enslavers’ long coveted
liberty,
as proclaimed in
their declaration of
independency;
and,
in the colonies,
are free to seek amnesty
through all means
necessary.
we will send troops
to support this cause
with zero hesitancy.
by order of my majesty,
King George III,
version: alternative history.
POET’S NOTE:
My contribution to Freedom 250 (not to be confused with America 250) along with 🤮. Let’s play some John Lennon while we make like Quentin Tarantino and imagine this, shall we? Part of the Wait. What?!? collection.

DEVILISHLY DREADFUL:
A Macabre Monday Series, Season 1 on Vinyl

Devilishly Dreadful: A Macabre Monday Series brings together Tristan Robert Lange’s first season of Gothic narrative poetry. Vampires, restless dead, betrayal, and sinister bargains inhabit tales shaped by classic horror, dark humor, and the cruelties of the living. From “Varney the Vampire” to “The Croaker,” each poem invites you deeper into a world where dread has a story to tell.

Tristan Robert Lange’s Annabel Lee
A little music to accompany today’s poetry: my new release, Annabel Lee, is out today! 🖤 Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, this eight-and-a-half-minute tone poem is composed by me and performed by Appalachian Virtual Ensemble.
I’d love for you to give it a listen. Best news, though? It’s yours for free! Enjoy!
