Appalachian Virtual Ensemble
Appalachian Virtual Ensemble is the space where composition takes form through atmosphere, restraint, and resonance. These works often begin in stillness…allowing sound to emerge, gather, and unfold with intention rather than force.
Drawing from classical tradition while remaining unbound by it, AVE explores the tension between structure and presence—where melody is not always declared, but discovered, and where silence is not absence, but weight.
This is music that lingers in the air it creates…not seeking resolution, but remaining within it.

Works
-
The Necromancer: A Return
A storm gathers above a shadowed tower where something long buried begins to stir. The Necromancer stands at the threshold between stillness and command, calling forth what should never answer.
-
The Suffering Servant: A Meditation Cycle for Piano Trio
A contemplative musical cycle tracing the path of Holy Week—not as triumph, but as burden…not as certainty, but as obedience. Moving from wilderness to cross, the work dwells in tension, surrender, and stillness, allowing each moment to linger without resolution…what remains is presence, and the echo of what endured.
