The Middle-Finger Christ

Against a completely black background, a glossy yellow forearm erupts upward through a clinging mass of elastic black goo, its hand raising the middle finger. The black substance stretches outward in long strands as though struggling unsuccessfully to contain the arm. Tittu signature, tristanrobertlange.com, and TRL monogram appear along the bottom.

Sweet heaven, the squeal of righteousness
Troubles the self-righteous revilers;

Reckon there’s gonna be a reckoning.

Yellow and black beats black and white—

Pass on the pretentious—to hell with the devil,

Evil disguised as Jesus evokes the middle-finger Christ.

Revelation has arrived—apocalypse rocks the stage!

POET’S NOTE:
An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem. Part of my Scorched Strays collection and the first in its Rock Band Edition. This poem honors a band scorched from both sides—too Christian for the metal world, too metal for the Christian world—yet still raising holy hell in yellow and black.
