cursing the prig tree

A dead, leafless fig tree stands in the center of a pristine stone church courtyard before large wooden church doors. Warm sunlight illuminates the church while the barren tree dominates the foreground. Tristan Robert Lange branding and website appear along the bottom.

wow.
no, you prig,

she’s not “retarded”—
that doesn’t fly—
rather, she’s very shy;

and, with that regarded,
stop…
and wonder why
others cry and fly—

your doors ultra guarded—
go back to where
you started,
try or let it die.

don’t call
yourself Christian
in your throne room
of a mountainous lie.

remember,
these words could
one day ring true:

“you call me lord,
but i never, ever knew you.”
