A dimly lit vintage boxing ring sits empty beneath a single overhead light in what appears to be a White House basement gym. Worn leather boxing gloves rest on a wooden stool in the foreground. In the distance, beyond the ropes, a brightly lit modern political stage glows with cameras and large screens. The image includes Tristan Robert Lange’s monogram and website address.

roosevelt enjoyed boxing
liked to box
stood in the ring
had the prowess of a fox.
you, mr. bad precedent,
polish your white box,
so you can sport self-branded socks,
possibly self-branded crocks,
while you watch others box,
claw, kick, scrape,
peck like gamecocks,
for your royal birthday bash,
as king of an ugly, social pox.
