in the liminal space
separating now from
then,
what has changed?
what has transpired in
us?
sinners succumb to sin
only when they cease
to see sin and
change.
when that change comes,
when it is delivered
deliberately
with honesty
and transparent
totality,
is it not then expected,
is it not absolutely
anticipated
that such change
will correct wrong
courses
and inspire honest,
and harrowing
truth-telling?
what, again, has changed,
what has transpired in
us,
that change wished for
becomes the impetus of
loathing?
