Orbit of Oblivion

A solitary, shadowed figure stands in darkness with a faint glowing orbital ring circling their torso. The scene is cinematic, minimal, and moody, with cool tones and soft light falling from above.

The mountain, seven stories high,
Hallowed and leagues deep—
Outraged at oblivion’s orbit.
Macabre is the world’s wicked window.
Action comes through contemplation,
Silence speaks through faithful fingers.

Moved souls transcend tethered trappings—
Evil shall not fall from amoral avoidance—
Refusal to confront relegates conscience.
Tyranny loves complacent conviction.
Open ontological observation reveals
Nullity is compliance with conformity.

POET’S NOTE:
An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem. Part of my Scorched Strays series. This poem examines the quiet danger of inaction—how silence, when mistaken for neutrality, becomes its own form of complicity.
