Eyes Aren’t Lies

A dark, empty urban street at night under a single harsh streetlight. Cracked pavement and concrete walls are sharply illuminated while the road recedes into darkness. Branding includes Tristan Robert Lange and tristanrobertlange.com.

i don’t care to do the tango
with a giant, menacing mango
maneuvering white…

manure?—no,

chalky urates excretion
swirled dairy dessert-style;

green tar topping
with a shit-ton of ICE.

plainly,
to be precise,
i don’t drink that crap they sell,
nor do i live in that poisoned well.

evil seen is evil done—our eyes aren’t lies
we must resist the evil we despise
not with might, hate, or more lies,

but with integrity and truth, undisguised.

no longer hidden—evil’s demise—
the tenacious truth topples frauds
and tells those with ears to hear,
and hearts open enough to absorb that

the darkest days are yet to come.
