A softly lit bathroom mirror reflecting an open doorway into a dim bedroom. White sans-serif poem text overlays the mirror, questioning identity and worth. A sink with soap dispensers sits below. The mood is muted, intimate, and contemplative, evoking isolation and self-examination.

i am not sure
which fact is sadder,
that I am told that
“i matter”, when

in reality
i clearly don’t;

or that you claim
an inclusive scope,
while viewing my brain
as anti-matter.

do i matter, when—
in your eyes—

i’ll never be
more than
past addictions,
present medications,
false perceptions

of me?
